Double Gameweeks are supposed to be the most exciting part of FPL but the last few double gameweeks have been quite underwhelming. Most of the players with single fixtures outscored the players with doubles. While we wait for more double gameweek announcements, we have another deadline upon us. In this article, we bring you 3 differential players that can help you boost your ranks.

Rayan Ait Nouri (Wolves – Defender – £4.3m) vs BRE (A)

Wolves are sitting 8th in the Premier League table having kept 8 clean sheets in 20 matches this season. They have conceded just 3 goals in their last 9 matches and have been one of the best defenses this season. Wolves face Brentford who have been struggling for goals having scored only 4 goals in their last 6 matches.

Ait Nouri has been phenomenal for Wolves. Due to injuries, he has started only 9 matches this season, having assisted thrice and keeping 5 clean sheets. He had an outstanding match against Southampton in GW22 where he had 2 assists and managed to get 2 bonus points. He is also averaging 5.79 points per match and with ownership of just 0.9%, the prospect of attacking returns along with a clean sheet is huge.

Matthew Cash (Aston Villa – Defender – £5.1m) vs EVE (A)

The arrival of Steven Gerrard as head coach boosted the fantasy potential for the fullbacks. Since his arrival, Aston Villa has picked up 2 clean sheets and despite conceding goals, have looked solid at the back. Aston Villa has the best upcoming fixture run and also 2 good fixtures to rearrange. They play Everton in GW23, who have been quite poor offensively and defensively.

So far this season, Cash has created 15 chances and 2 big chances for his team and managed 14 shots inside the box. He also has the second-highest number of penalty area touches (57) among all defenders. While not having good chance creation numbers, his quite advanced position along with clean sheet potential make him a very good prospect. With ownership of just 4.5%, he could be a solid differential at the back.

Raheem Sterling (Manchester City – Midfielder – £10.7m) vs SOU (A)

This season, Sterling has been in and out of Pep’s starting eleven most weeks but has had 9 starts in the last 11 games. This season, he has scored 7 goals and provided 1 assist and has 35 attempts on goal, 27 from inside the box, and 12 on target. He has also managed to create 25 chances and 4 big chances. With no obvious captaincy pick this week, Sterling could be a nice cheeky differential captain too.

Their opponents, Southampton, have conceded 12 goals in the last 6 matches and have kept just 4 clean sheets this season. Another big City win looks very much on the cards, and we back Sterling to put on a solid display. Current ownership is 3.7%.

*Ownership percentage is as of January 20, 2022, at the time of writing the article.
