Gameweek 23 saw some teams play in the first of many double gameweeks to come as teams play catch up due to Covid fixture postponements. Man City put a big dent in Chelsea’s title challenge with a 1-0 win to cement their place at the top. Liverpool picked up a convincing 3-0 win over Brentford to move up to 2nd place to stay 11 points behind Man City with a game in hand. After their loss against Man City, Chelsea failed to capitalise on their DGW with a disappointing 1-1 draw with Brighton. In the race for the top 4, Spurs were the big winners as they secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Leicester thanks to two late goals from Steven Bergwijn (£5.9m) to move up to 5th in the table with three games in hand over 4th-placed West Ham. On the FPL front, the DGW saw an FPL average of 51 points with GW23 lining up to be the first GW since GW15 to see all 10 fixtures take place.
