Cancelo the press! Another week gone by and another City defender leading the points. Sad to say he didn’t enter my consideration, but I was certainly glad to own for his long-overdue haul.

Suffice to say at least two/three familiar names roared back into life this previous round with TAA and Mane finally delivering some overdue returns. With Watkins following a trio of blanks with 2 back to back returning weeks. Gundongan returned a stellar 14 points as he continued to perform well above his previous years’ output.

Sadly we got our © and vice © the wrong way around in an unpopular theme this year, with Sterling putting up 11 points w/o bonus and Bruno with an obligatory 90 minute run-out against Sheffield United who truly rocked the boat with a stellar win.

As so often can be said the drama of the PL is sometimes greater than captain points. Though that doesn’t always soften the blow entirely.

Another weekend of fixtures comes straight away with a number of players in the mix who we haven’t mentioned in a while, coupled with some late injury drama too as Kane has supposedly done both of his ankles and looks likely to miss the weekend fixture at a minimum according to Jose M. As such, with Spurs Kaneless I’ll not be considering him or Son despite the obvious fixture appeal.

TLDR

My © will be Sterling
Vice –  DCL

DCL – TSB ~ 25% –  NEW

Everton looked dangerous against title hopefuls Leicester in midweek and shortly before going off DCL did miss a big chance to nod in a goal. A fully fit preferred eleven looks likely against a Newcastle side who continue to ship goals and sink lower in the table.

The only minus for me is that it’s the early kickoff on Saturday and I have notoriously poor form with those © picks, but a strong shout nevertheless.

If you can afford Digne and want to go rogue, this looks like a great fixture as he could well emulate Cancelo/Stones of recent weeks.

Grealish – TSB ~ 37% – SOU

Finally got a goal for his owners in what no doubt felt like forever. Ran the show in midweek despite Burnley winning impressively as a collective.

Southampton let three goals past them in their fixture against Arsenal and quite possibly are showing a bit of fatigue during a continued period of midweek and weekend fixtures. Another chance for Grealish to run the show here.

Sterling – TSB ~ 10% – SHU

A second 11 pointer in a row as many flock to the budget favoured Gundongan as their KdB replacement. I already owned Sterling at the time of the KdB injury so I will continue to hold.

Despite the midweek heroics of SHU midweek, I anticipate Man City will continue their ominous form into this fixture. Despite Gundongan’s strong showings in recent weeks I’m not sure I personally believe it can continue so will back the attacking form of Sterling here.

If you think lightning may strike twice maybe it’s a roll of the dice on Cancelo again as he was basically playing as a left midfielder in the midweek.

Mane / Salah – TSB ~ 8%  / 38% – WHU

A return to form for Mane whilst Salah has now endured 400+minutes without a PL goal. Liverpool’s goal scoring form had dropped off of late but there is life in this squad yet and this fixture can usually be a higher scoring one. I’d back Mane to continue over Mo due to the form and the way they are playing again but don’t discount Salah for too long.
