2022/23 Premier League Press Conferences – GW15

ARSENAL

RULED OUT: Emile Smith Rowe (groin)

MIGHT PLAY: Takehiro Tomiyasu (muscle), Matt Turner (groin)

AVAILABLE: Bukayo Saka (knock), Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf), Mohamed Elneny (hamstring)

“He felt something and we didn’t want to take any risks with the amount of games that we’re playing. It can happen in training [or] in games and unfortunately it happened to Tomi [Tomiyasu] today. The rest of the players have to be ready.” – Mikel Arteta

ASTON VILLA

RULED OUT: Diego Carlos (Achilles)

MIGHT PLAY: Emiliano Martinez (concussion), Ludwig Augustinsson (hamstring), Boubacar Kamara (knee)

BOURNEMOUTH

RULED OUT: Neto (hamstring), Lloyd Kelly (ankle), David Brooks (hamstring)

Neto will not play again before the World Cup. The World Cup break might come too soon for Lloyd [Kelly]. He’s doing well, he’s made some big strides, but the break might come too soon for him. We’ll have to see on that one. I think the same for David Brooks. – caretaker manager Gary O’Neil

BRENTFORD

RULED OUT: Ivan Toney (suspended), Pontus Jansson (hamstring), Aaron Hickey (ankle), Thomas Strakosha (ankle)

MIGHT PLAY: Christian Norgaard (Achilles)

DEAD LEG: Mathias Jensen (knock)

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION

RULED OUT: Jakub Moder (knee)

MIGHT PLAY: Joel Veltman (calf)

AVAILABLE: Danny Welbeck (illness), Levi Colwill (was unable to face parent club)

I think the best first XI I can choose. Welbeck is good, I don’t know if he starts in the first XI or not. I think [Veltman] can be ready to play but today in the last training session before the game we have to decide.” – Roberto De Zerbi

CHELSEA

RULED OUT: Reece James (knee), Kepa Arrizabalaga (foot), Ben Chilwell (hamstring), Wesley Fofana (knee), N’Golo Kante (hamstring), Carney Chukwuemeka (hamstring)

AVAILABLE: Mateo Kovacic (calf)

We all saw the nature of the [Chilwell] injury, I can’t say it looks positive but, again, until we get the scan it’s difficult to say. Kepa – it’s his plantar fascia, which is the bottom of his foot. I don’t think he’ll play before the World Cup. – Graham Potter

CRYSTAL PALACE

RULED OUT: Jack Butland (hand), James McArthur (groin), Chris Richards (hamstring)

MIGHT PLAY: Odsonne Edouard (knock), Cheikhou Doucoure (unspecified), Nathan Ferguson (match fitness)

“Edouard will do a little bit more training with the team tomorrow and we’ll make a decision afterwards. Cheick [Doucoure] started his first training session with the team today, so we’ll wait to see the reaction. It’s best to wait and see how they feel after the work they did today.” – Patrick Vieira

EVERTON

RULED OUT: Andros Townsend (knee)

MIGHT PLAY: Ben Godfrey (leg), Yerry Mina (calf)

“[Nathan Patterson] is ready. He came on last week and it’s more my decision on how ready to start he is.” – Frank Lampard

FULHAM

RULED OUT: Neeskens Kebano (Achilles), Bobby De Cordova-Reid (suspended), Manor Solomon (knee)

MIGHT PLAY: Layvin Kurzawa (calf)

“Neeskens Kebano has unfortunately suffered a ruptured Achilles in training this week. He will now undergo specialist consultation and will be out of action for several months.” – Fulham club statement

LEEDS UNITED

RULED OUT: Luis Sinisterra (foot), Stuart Dallas (leg), Adam Forshaw (ankle)

Luis [Sinisterra] has a foot injury that turns out to be more than what we originally thought it was. He wasn’t making the progress that we were hoping for him to make over the last 10 days. So they did another scan and then they had a specialist looked at it, and they start to worry about it being a Lisfranc injury.

“It’s a rare injury that controls the movement of the metatarsals and when that is ruptured, it can be a long recovery. We don’t believe it’s ruptured. We believe it’s partially torn, which puts him in a little bit of a grey area, but probably out until after the World Cup break. – Jesse Marsch

LEICESTER CITY

RULED OUT: Ricardo Pereira (Achilles), Ryan Bertrand (knee)

MIGHT PLAY: Jonny Evans (calf)

We’ll decide on that tomorrow, whether he’s going to be ready to have an impact, or whether it’ll be Tuesday [in the Carabao Cup]. It’s been a little bit slower than we’d have hoped but he was out training with the squad today we’ll evaluate the risk on that and take it from there. – Brendan Rodgers on Jonny Evans

LIVERPOOL

RULED OUT: Diogo Jota (calf), Luis Diaz (knee), James Milner (concussion), Joel Matip (calf), Arthur Melo (muscle)

MIGHT PLAY: Naby Keita (muscle)

AVAILABLE: Jordan Henderson (knee)

So, Hendo, yes, he’s available. He trained yesterday completely normal so should be fine. He had a little thing but serious enough to not be involved in the last game. – Jurgen Klopp on Jordan Henderson

MANCHESTER CITY

RULED OUT: Kyle Walker (groin), Kalvin Phillips (shoulder)

MIGHT PLAY: Erling Haaland (foot)

AVAILABLE: Manuel Akanji (knock)

“He is much better, we will decide today. It’s a good step, start to training, now we have training this afternoon and we will see.” – Pep Guardiola on Erling Haaland

MANCHESTER UNITED

RULED OUT: Bruno Fernandes (suspended), Raphael Varane (hamstring), Brandon Williams (unspecified)

MIGHT PLAY: Antony (knock), Jadon Sancho (illness), Anthony Martial (back)

“It’s difficult to say in this moment. I have to talk with the medical and the performance team. I have to hear how their progress was and if they can be available.” – Erik ten Hag on the availability of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial

NEWCASTLE UNITED

RULED OUT: Joelinton (suspended), Alexander Isak (thigh), Emil Krafth (knee), Matt Ritchie (calf), Paul Dummett (calf)

MIGHT PLAY: Karl Darlow (ankle), Callum Wilson (illness)

AVAILABLE: Fabian Schar (hamstring)

I think he’s OK. He’s had a little cold. It’s funny how everything gets around, doesn’t it, especially when you’re doing a podcast, I suppose! But yeah, fingers crossed he’ll be OK. – Eddie Howe on Callum Wilson

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

RULED OUT: Harry Toffolo (hamstring), Giulian Biancone (knee), Omar Richards (leg), Moussa Niakhate (thigh), Jack Colback (back)

Unfortunately, Giulian [Biancone] picked up a serious knee injury in training which will rule him out until the end of the season.  – Steve Cooper

SOUTHAMPTON

RULED OUT: Kyle Walker-Peters (hamstring), Tino Livramento (knee)

MIGHT PLAY: Romeo Lavia (match fitness), Stuart Armstrong (knock)

AVAILABLE: Armel Bella-Kotchap (shoulder)

Lavia is in contention, yes. But we had, this week, also a little problem with his knee. This happens often when you are long out, some other issues and you have to be careful. [Bella-Kotchap] is also an option for the weekend. He is back in training and has trained everything and shows no fear.” – Ralph Hasenhuttl

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

RULED OUT: Son Heung-min (facial injury), Cristian Romero (muscle), Richarlison (calf)

MIGHT PLAY: Dejan Kulusevski (hamstring), Lucas Moura (tendon)

AVAILABLE: Rodrigo Bentancur (muscle)

I can confirm that Richarlison is not available for the game, same for Romero. Bentancur is much better and today is a part of the training session. The same for Kulusevski today, he had a half-training session with us. The problem with Lucas Moura is having different faces for his pain in his tendons. Today it was really bad and they said he was really worried for this but I asked him to try to be available because we need him.” – Antonio Conte

WEST HAM UNITED

MIGHT PLAY: Lucas Paqueta (shoulder), Lukasz Fabianski (knee), Maxwel Cornet (calf)
