TOP SCORING DEFENDER & DEFENDER TO TARGET FOR GWs 4-7

TOP SCORING DEFENDER: MARCOS ALONSO

Marcos Alonso seems to have nailed the LWB position for strong starters and title contenders Chelsea FC. He is currently priced at £5.7m, having enjoyed a price increase of £0.2m, the Chelsea FC LWB can boast the title of highest scoring defender in FPL after three game weeks.

He ranks 3rd for Total Points, 3rd for Bonus Points System and 5th for Creativity amongst all players in FPL, based on FPL Statistics. Below shows Alonso’s heatmap and average statistics per 90 min (via fantasyfootballfix).

Already scoring above the expected points of 6.03 per 90 minutes, if you already own Marcos Alonso, he will definitely be one to hold, he seems fixture proof at the moment.

DEFENDER TO TARGET FOR GWs 4-7: FERNANDO MARÇAL

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC did not have a good start to the campaign losing all three of their opening fixtures by a solitary goal each, they faced top 4 chasers, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United respectively. Wolves can be considered very unlucky not to register any points thus far. They seem to be understanding the tactics of new Manager Bruno Lage beating Nottingham Forest 4–0 in the EFL Cup and in GW3 they registered 14 shots, 6 of which were on target against a resolute yet fortunate Manchester United team.

From an FPL perspective, their next four fixtures cannot be ignored and a cheap route into the Wolves defence that can pay dividends is that of LWB Marçal. Priced at £4.5m, Marçal has started all three of Wolves fixtures and apart from the clean sheet appeal based on the next 4 fixtures, he has recorded 1 shot, 2 attempted assists, hence there can be an added bonus from the £4.5m Defender of attacking returns.
