The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster for everyone. Many teams have been affected by Covid outbreaks and most of the fixtures are getting postponed. The deadline is near and holding onto your transfers until the last minute is key. With very limited options available from the remaining fixtures, gaining rank can be quite difficult. In this article, we bring you 3 differential picks that can help you boost your rank.

Diogo Dalot (Man Utd – Defender – £4.5m) vs NEW (A)

Dalot is now probably the first choice right-back under Ralf. He has started Man Utd’s last 3 games and has 2 clean sheets to his name and also seems to be getting into quite attacking positions. In his last 3 games, he has had 3 goal attempts and 2 shots inside the box.

Under Ralf, Utd seems to have improved defensively too, and with so many fixtures to be rearranged, Dalot can be a good value pick and a cheap way into the Utd defense. The prospect of a clean sheet with attacking returns against the worst defense in the league makes him a good option for our FPL teams. His current ownership is 2.7%.

Ben Davies (Spurs – Defender – £4.5m) vs CRY (H)

The arrival of Antonio Conte has had quite an effect on the prospects of Tottenham’s defenders. In his last five games in charge, Spurs have picked up 3 clean sheets and 3 wins with a 2-2 draw at Liverpool the last time out. Ben Davies has been playing as a left center-back and has shown glimpses of his attacking potential so far this season with 2 assists in the last 5 games.

So far in 7 appearances (6 starts), he has created 3 chances for his team and managed 5 goal attempts, 4 shots from inside the box, and 3 big chances. The clean sheet potential of Conte’s teams with Davies’ attacking runs inside the box, and his low price make him a very good prospect. With ownership of just 2.2%, Davies is a solid differential at the back.

Raheem Sterling (Manchester City – Midfielder – £10.6m) vs LEI (H)

This season, Sterling has been in and out of Pep’s starting eleven most weeks but has had 7 starts in the last 8 games. He has scored 5 goals and provided 1 assist and has 14 attempts on goal, 9 from inside the box, and 8 on target. He has also managed to create 14 chances and 3 big chances.

Leicester have conceded 10 goals in the last 6 matches and have kept just 2 clean sheets this season. Another big City win looks very much on the cards, and we back Sterling to put on a solid display. Current ownership is 2.3%.

*Ownership percentage is as of December 26, 2021, at the time of writing the article.
